Nearly all men can stand adversity…

SGU | 1.10 - Justice
(ssshh, nothing to read here, I just feel like ranting, but please, feel free to delete this)
I am often amazed by how much they always managed to squeeze into ~42 minutes, but this episode probably takes the lead. 3 minutes in and the crew already has to deal with a corpse. And from that point on, things unravel damn fast: There’s the weapon search (CSI: Destiny), Young stepping back and Camile getting to take the lead. There’s the trial, the exploration of the chair room, Frankling sitting in that chair (bad idea!) which leads to Young getting cross with Rush, the discovery of the alien ship on the desert planet, the revelation that it was indeed Rush who tried to frame the Colonel for murder. And finally, Young taking it out with Rush on the planet (bad idea #2).
And still, they didn’t cut short on the subtle character exploration. (lots of different layers of Young / Scott, Greer and basically all of the military personnell sticking up for him / Young trusting Chloe to defend him at the trial / Camile’s rigorous leading ways incl. her struggles / and hey let’s not forget about Rush and the Rush/Young relationship taking another turn)
While I understand that many people didn’t warm up with the show for various reasons, I cannot wrap my mind around the argument that SGU bored them to tears.

Title: Ice
Summary: “Think of something neutral.”
A/N: So this was intended for something else entirely but after much consideration I decided to cut it from the story but I still really liked it. In the end I ended up making some changes so it’d stand relatively alright on it’s own. I hope you enjoy it!

“You’re good at this,” her voice was quiet, muffled as she shifted on the cold metal floor to press her face against his jeans. Rush hummed in soft agreement and ran the cold, wet cloth in his hand along Belle’s neck.
